Today, due to climate change, glaciers worldwide are melting at an impressive speed. Scientists consider that every glacier below 3500 meters of altitude will be gone in the next 20 years. Soon, one will need to be a very highly skilled alpinist to be able to access them.
The idea of my project was born when a long hike in the Alps ended with disappointment. I realized that the glacier I was looking for melted and existed no more. As an artist I suddenly found myself in a place where the Glaciers took all my attention, as their existence or rather disappearance is essential for our proper survival.
The main goal of my expedition is to witness and create strong visual documentation, both in photographs and film, of glaciers on all seven continents: Africa, Americas, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, Oceania, Europe.
It is essential to spread the knowledge about Glaciers inside and outside scientific circles in order to re-inform the skeptics and educate generations to come, giving them the opportunity to create a more sustainable future.
This Expedition is of even more great value, as none like this exists today.
