Timeline:
Seven years in the field.
Target populations: worldwide, all ages and classes.
Locations: worldwide, all seven continents.
Expected: images of two to four glaciers by continent for possible choice of editing and consistency.
List of Glaciers:
1. Antarctica (Pine Island, Thwaites, Beardmore)
2. Oceania ( New Zealand – Tasman, Mueller, Houker, Franz Josef, Fox, Papua New Guinea – Pancake Jaya, Indonesia – Carstensz, West Northwall Firn)
3. Americas ( Greenland – Jakobshavn, Helheim, Alaska – Muir, LeConte, Montana – Chaney, Sperry, Alaska – Matanuska, Barnard, Malaspina, Canada – Kaskawulsh, Argentine – Perito Moreno, Marconi, Domuyo, Chili – Braggen, Grey, San Rafael )
4.Africa ( Tanzania – Kilimandjaro / Furtwangler, Kenya – Lewis)
5.Asia ( Bhutan – Himalaya Mountains, glacial lakes, Tadjikistan – Fedtchenko, Pakistan – Baltoto, Biafo, Inde – Siachen)
6.Australia (Heard Island glacier)
7.Europe ( Aletsch, Fiesch, Gorner, La Mer de Glace, Bossons, Parc de la Vanoise, Arcouzan, Norway – Engabreen, Austfonna, Iceland – Vatnajkull,
Jakobshavn Glacier – Greenland, Eyjafjallajkull, Skaftafellsjokull, Russia – Severny Island) etc.
Possible changes in the choice of Glaciers might be applied before and during the Expedition.
Capacity Building:
Our Expedition will contribute to local economy. We will hire freelance mountain guides/fixers and video/photo technical teams on location. By working closely with each country and governments we will organise exhibitions to provide communities access to various aspects of the glaciers on their territories.
Results:
The benefit of this project is and will be worldwide.
Expected results, apart from powerful photography and documentary film, are basically the reaction of all who will see and understand the importance of glaciers, which can lead to different actions for their preservation.
Monitoring the measure of the results is a simple matter: museums, conferences, schools, art galleries, magazines, telephone applications, internet, television and radio, will help analyse the behavior of various populations.
Moreover, if budget allows it, we want to work with a developper in order to process Big Data worldwide and complement mass media dissemination.
